Official Synopsis
When the crew of the Enterprise is called back home, they find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization has detonated the fleet and everything it stands for, leaving our world in a state of crisis. Karl’s role
Karl Urban reprises his role as Dr. Leonard “Bones” McCoy in the second movie of the franchise directed by J.J. Abrams. Bones is the chief medical officer of the U.S.S. Enterprise and Kirk’s best friend since they were at the Starfleet Academy.
In Star trek Into Darkness, Bones has some distinguished scenes, but he still doesn’t have the importance on the plot as the original character had: the relationship between Kirk, Bones and Spock was one of the most important (and interesting) things in the original series. However, this relationship hasn’t evolved enough in the Abrams’ reboot yet. Lots of fans have been demanding more about the triangle’s development (among many other things), and even Karl himself has declared recently that he would like to see more of this special relationship on the next movies (read our report from ECCC 2014).
Karl has received outstanding reviews on his work in Star Trek, both from public and critics, and Bones is one of the dearest characters on board the Enterprise.
